I know that I don’t have to tell you that stress is dangerous to your health. One of the great changes in conventional medicine over the past few decades is the acceptance of the fact that mental stress can cause physical disease.
But when most people are asked about reducing stress, they immediately think about all the things in their lives that are hard and how they would like get rid of them. If there was more money, less time at work, more understanding from the spouse, greater respect from the kids, transparency from the government…
In short, if only everyone treated you as well as your dog does, you wouldn’t have as much stress. You would be mentally and physically healthier.
But what if instead of these pipe dreams, something else happened; something that doesn’t require multiple changes of circumstances and people outside of you, but only a single thing inside of you?
What if you woke up one day and all of the things that used to “stress you out” suddenly didn’t? How would you feel if the buttons that your mom pushes to get a rise out of you, or your boss pushes to make your day miserable simply weren’t there? Would you feel relief if the logistics of the coming month (holidays are around the corner!) brought no anxiety and were instead a small hurdle that you feel more than equipped to deal with?
It is natural that what I offer as a physician is targeted towards people who are sick. These are the people that most immediately need help and are motivated to seek it. These are also the people that many of you think of when you read one of my articles or come to a talk.
But guiding your body to heal itself is equally about prevention. Even if you are not sick, I encourage you to think about your daily stresses- emotional highs and lows- and how your life might benefit by leaving them behind.
I say this because that is exactly what is happening to me. What might appear to be external sources of stress- ownership of a small business, two small children with a third on the way, the ailing health of dearly loved family members, impending financial and environmental crises- I am at peace.
Truthfully, it is at times an odd feeling, being at peace. It has replaced a lifetime of worry and concern that, looking back, was exhausting. But using the exact same healing processes that I offer in my practice, I have been able to drastically slash the amount of stress that I feel, while my external circumstances have, if anything, gotten more stressful.
I feel a peace and joy that I want to share with you. The process has worked for many other people and when contrasted with other ways of healing, it is very affordable. In fact, eliminating much of your own stress can only save you money in the long run. The fact is that the same peace and joy that I feel is within reach for you.
Please give me a call. I can tell you about healing sessions in a serene office setting. I can also tell you more about the stress management classes that are now forming. To find out more about the stress management class, please click here.
If you are not local, but would like some help, please give me a call. I will listen to your story for 10-15 minutes and, at the end, give you my recommendation.
Why make the call? Simply because you are too precious not too.
