The Importance of a
VAP Cholesterol Test
In the last newsletter, I described how your standard cholesterol test is a failure at predicting heart disease risk.  After all, over half of people who die of heart attacks have normal cholesterol.  In my class last weekend, I specifically cited research that showed that LDL cholesterol is not always “bad.”
Thanks to improved technology, researchers have found that LDL cholesterol actually comes in two forms:
  1. Big and fluffy LDL - associated with a diet high in good fats (including saturated fat) and low in sugar and refined flours.
  2. Small and dense LDL - associated with high sugar diets, high insulin levels, and obesity.

Interestingly, the big and fluffy LDL particles indicate a dramatically lower risk of dying from heart disease, while the small and dense LDL particles are a strong risk factor for death from heart disease and stroke.

The VAP cholesterol test is simple method for determining whether or not your LDL is big and fluffy or small and dense.  The typical price for this test is well over $100.  However, I have just negotiated a new pricing agreement with my lab so that this important test can be more affordable.  I can now offer it to you for $45.
$45 is extremely reasonable for the advanced centrifuge technology that is needed to isolate LDL fractions.  In addition, the VAP test will measure your Lp(a) - another blood marker that is a strong independent risk factor for heart disease.

Next Hormone Class to Focus on “Fatigue”
On Saturday, February 20th, from 10 am to 12 pm, I will be hosting a class on the thryoid and adrenal glands.  If you don’t have as much energy as you would like to have, please consider joining us.  This is especially true if you think your thyroid isn’t working like it should, but your doctor has told you that your lab tests are “normal.”

There are specific tests that conventional doctors don’t like to do; I’ll tell you what the tests are and how to get them.
Other symptoms that will be addressed in this class:
weakness · insomnia · sweet cravings · depression · frustration · irritability · nervousness · headaches · allergies ·PMS · fibromyalgia
Please click here for the Thryoid / Adrenal Fatigue class flier.
Thanks, and please bring a friend!
